Stainless Steel Heat Trace Coil Tube for CEMS Sampling Systems

Product Category: Instrumentation & Metering — Sampling Systems

Application: Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS) Heat-Traced Sample Lines

Manufacturer: Wenzhou Jixing Metal Materials Co., Ltd.

1. Product Overview

This heat-traced coil tube is a precision-engineered sampling line component designed specifically for Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) deployed in environmental compliance and industrial flue gas analysis applications. The product maintains a constant internal temperature range of 120–180 °C, effectively preventing moisture condensation and particulate deposition within the sampling pathway — critical requirements for ensuring accurate and representative gas analysis in compliance with international environmental regulations (e.g., EU Industrial Emissions Directive, US EPA Method 5/6, and China's HJ 75/HJ 76/HJ 77 standards).

The coil tube integrates a seamless austenitic stainless steel outer jacket with a high-purity PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) inner liner, providing exceptional chemical inertness, thermal stability, and mechanical durability under continuous high-temperature operation. The temperature control accuracy of ±2 °C ensures consistent sample conditioning from the probe extraction point through the entire transfer line to the analyzer inlet.

4. Manufacturing Process

  1. Material Selection & Inspection: Certified 304 BA stainless steel coils sourced from accredited mills with full mill test certificates (MTC) conforming to ASTM A269/A270. Incoming PTFE resin verified for purity and molecular weight distribution.
  2. Tube Forming & Annealing: Seamless stainless steel tubes formed via cold-rolling and precision sizing. Bright annealing performed in a controlled atmosphere (reducing gas, dew point ≤ −60 °C) to achieve a smooth, oxide-free BA surface finish with Ra ≤ 0.4 μm.
  3. PTFE Lining Application: PTFE coating applied via electrostatic spraying or extrusion-based lining technique, ensuring uniform wall thickness and full adhesion to the inner steel surface. Cured at 260 °C for 30 minutes to achieve maximum crystallinity and mechanical properties.
  4. Heat Trace Integration: Self-regulating or constant-power heating cable wound concentrically around the tube. Integrated with thermocouple sensors (Type K) at multiple points along the coil for distributed temperature monitoring.
  5. Insulation & Jacketing: Mineral wool or ceramic fiber insulation wrapped and secured around the heated assembly. Protected with a corrosion-resistant outer jacket (304 stainless steel braid or aluminum foil).
  6. Coil Winding: The assembled tube wound onto precision mandrels to form uniform coils with controlled inner diameter. Winding tension monitored to prevent kinking or deformation of the PTFE liner.
  7. Quality Control & Testing: Each coil undergoes hydrostatic pressure testing (1.5× working pressure), electrical continuity testing, temperature uniformity verification (±2 °C across all zones), and visual inspection of all joints and connections.
  8. Packaging: Coils secured on protective wooden reels with moisture-absorbing desiccants and labeled with unique batch traceability codes.

7. Unique Selling Points

Ultra-Precise Temperature Control (±2 °C): Ensures consistent sample conditioning across the entire coil length, eliminating hot spots and cold spots that cause measurement drift.

Dual-Layer Construction (304 BA + PTFE): Combines the mechanical strength and corrosion resistance of stainless steel with the chemical inertness and non-stick properties of PTFE — preventing sample contamination and adsorption losses.

Compact Coil Design: Space-efficient installation ideal for retrofits and confined monitoring station layouts. Customizable coil dimensions to match site-specific spatial constraints.

Full Traceability: Each unit serialized with complete manufacturing documentation, material certificates, and test reports for regulatory audit readiness.

Reliability for Continuous Operation: Designed for 24/7 operation with a minimum service life of 5 years under standard CEMS conditions, minimizing downtime and maintenance costs.
